The Ideas, Innovation, Improvment Fund is Now Open for another round of Funding

The Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership have allocated funds from the Integrated Care Fund (ICF) for one-off grants to support the development of new or existing third sector initiatives which build capacity within communities in order to encourage health and wellbeing.
This money is being administered by SVE and CTSi through the Ideas, Innovation, Improvement (I.I.I.) Fund.
Applications for the Ideas, Innovation, Improvement Fund are invited from constituted groups and organisations to support initiatives which meet the following criteria:
Applications must:
* Be from Third Sector (voluntary) organisations - Third Sector organisations include community groups, voluntary organisations, charities or social enterprises; these groups must have a constitution.
* Support the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership to deliver integrated or joined up health and social care services - The money for this fund comes from the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership therefore activities need to support the vision of people living full and positive lives within supportive communities.
The closing date for applications is 9th November 2020. The Panel will meet shortly after this date and decisions will then be made as soon as possible.

The Local History Society, in common with many other clubs and societies, has regretfully decided that we will be unable to hold any meetings for the rest of 2020.
We will review the situation after Christmas in the hope that we can resume as soon as conditions allow.

Our September, October, November and December talks have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus.
It is hoped that the talks will resume early in the New Year, when conditions allow us to do so.

Community organisations can now apply for grants of up to £10,000 to organise beginner-friendly, local cycling events in 2021.
Applications are open for Cycling Scotland’s Pedal for Scotland funding.
The fund will support community organisations to deliver local cycling events next year, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.
Events should support inclusive cycling and highlight local cycling infrastructure and opportunities.
There are two streams of funding available, each with their own criteria:
- Up to £1,000 – Local events for between 50 and 250 people, delivered by community organisations
- Up to £10,000 – Larger events for between 250 and 700 people, delivered in partnership with Cycling Scotland
Deadlines
- Round 1 (for events happening before 30 June 2021) – 30 November 2020
- Round 2 (for events happening before 31 October 2021) – 12 February 2021

We are preparing to reopen Dunblane Cathedral to visitors on 2 September and I just wanted to give you a quick update on what our plans are.
We will be opening all internal areas except the bell tower, Clement Chapel and west window viewing area.
To manage the number of people on site at any time to ensure space for social distancing we are asking all visitors to
- book an available entry time slot through our website www.historicenvironment.scot,
- use hand sanitiser units which will be located throughout,
- follow one way systems and wear face coverings in all internal areas.
The health & safety of both our staff, and visitors, is our number one priority therefore we're following Scottish Government guidelines and taking a cautious approach to reopening with limited daily capacities, which will be reviewed when social distancing rules change.
As an organisation, Historic Environment Scotland has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in line with SG guidance, updates and the route map, and has developed a specific Covid-19 response Action Plan for 2020/21. We have carefully considered how, and where, sites can be efficiently and safely reopened to support local economic recovery, and provide spaces for personal health and wellbeing. To enable this, we have prepared a detailed Minimum Operating Standards document - this sets the benchmark for safe delivery of property reopening and operational activity.
We are looking forward to welcoming visitors back inside our beautiful Cathedral from Wednesday, but in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any further questions about our plans.

New Cycling Maps for locals and tourists feature easy e-bike rides in the Trossachs, great gravel rides in the Aberfoyle area and Scottish long distance routes with Dayrides at Visit Scotland, including one to Dunblane.

The Community Council has had a request from a regular attender to join the monthly meeting, which has recently been held on Zoom and limited to Community Council members and Elected members (the police and Stirling Council staff are not permitted to attend zoom meetings).
It may be that we are able to open more to interested members of the public. I say more interested as having 100 people signed into zoom will be a nightmare. If you are interested you will need to tell us that you wish to join and provide an email address so you can get an invitation to the zoom meeting.
It is probably best to tell us if you have a burning issue that you want to have discussed. I am wary of putting a limit on numbers – so we will see how it goes to start with.

Some local residents on the Glassingall Estate sent a letter to Glassingall Estates Ltd in response to the demolition and burning of Glassingall House on the 11th and 12th of June. The full letter can be viewed here. A letter has also been sent to the Health & Safety Executive SEPA and the Council. SEPA has apparently responded and is now taking witness statements.
Glassingall Estates Limited is one of the companies in the Gloag portfolio. Dame Ann Gloag bought the estate over a year ago and a Pre Application Notification of Planning was submitted last year. This outlined a development of 135 chalets and an outdoor centre.
The local residents say that ‘the remains of Glassingall House appear to have materials looking awfully like asbestos lying around in the open in a fragile condition. Do not attempt to enter the area and please keep your children away. Asbestos is extremely hazardous and kills. People have been seen wandering around with their children within the fenced off area. This is a very bad idea. Please keep away’.

A Stirling Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the demolition works at Glassinghall estate and can confirm investigations are underway.
“Demolition works of this nature are subject to statutory processes and require permission from the planning authority, in this case, Stirling Council. We can confirm no building warrant for demolition was requested from, or issued by, Stirling Council in relation to this work and we have taken immediate measures to ensure the site is safe.
“We are in discussions with the landowner regarding the submission of a building warrant to regulate the works already undertaken, and to cover the completion of the remaining unauthorised work.”
