Once the centre of urban control for Dunblane, this is now an outlying office for Stirling Council. Yet it still retains its charm and memories. Anyone having watched the Kenneth More version of Thirty Nine Steps will remember the leap from the window of the sheriffs office. Yes it was the window here (though the frames are now plastic). The glass was removed for the film and replaced with a sheet of crystalised sugar. After each shot the local children swooped on the "shards" of glass and sooked happily.
