Silent Screen Scotland presents "Nosferatu" on the afternoon of Saturday 26th October - a silent m ovie screening of this cinematic classic accompanied by live score.
Dunblane Cathedral Halls will provide the atmospheric setting for the screening which will be accompanied by a live pianist performing the original score by Hans Erdman n. This event is suitable for ages 10+.
“Nosferatu" – the infamous 1922 German adaptio n of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula” was an unauthorised and unofficial adaption of Stoker’s vampire classic. It sees various names and other detai ls changed from the novel, including Count Dracula being renamed Count Orlo k. It is believed by many that these changes were implemented in an attempt to avoid accusations of copyright infringement. Even with several details altered, Stoker’s heirs sued over the adaption – at one point all copies of the film were ordered to be destroyed! Thankfully a few prints of “Nosfera tu” survived and the film came to be regraded as an influential masterpiece of cinema.
Tickets are priced at £10 each and can be purchased in advance through Eventbrite (booking fee applies). Limited tic kets (cash only) will be available to purchase "on the door". This abridged screening of Nosferatu has a running time of c60mins. Children must have t heir own ticket and be accompanied by a paying adult. Please note that tick ets are non-refundable except in the event that the screening is cancelled (booking fees are non-refundable).
