DESCRIPTION:<p>The next Arts Guild concert is on&nbsp;<strong>Sunday 5<sup>th</sup>&nbs
 p;October</strong>&nbsp;when&nbsp;<strong>The Gabriel Latchin Trio</strong>
 &nbsp;will play Gershwin – new arrangements of such favourites as<em>&nbsp;
 Summertime, Someone to watch over me</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>I got Rhythm</e
 m>.</p><p>Pianist Gabriel Latchin is recognised as “the best straight-ahead
  jazz pianist to appear in the past few years"<em>&nbsp;(The Guardian)&nbsp
 ;</em>and<em>&nbsp;</em>praised internationally by critics and world-renown
 ed musicians alike. The line-up includes Scottish jazz bassist, composer an
 d bandleader Calum Gourlay and London-based drummer Josh Morrison.</p><p>Th
 e Trio is now a major highlight on the UK jazz scene and has also been feat
 ured in ‘Downbeat’ (USA) and Jazz Japan. Inspired by jazz greats Bill Evans
 , Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock, the Trio has been praised as “elegant,
  swinging and tasteful”&nbsp;<em>(Renée Fleming)</em></p><p>The concert sta
 rts at&nbsp;<strong>3pm in the Cathedral</strong>. Admission is by donation
