Stirling Local Development Plan : Update for Communities – July 2015 Work has already begun on a new plan that will replace the LDP adopted in 2014. In August 2015, the Council published a Main Issues Report. The Main Issues Report was approved for consultation by the Council in June 2015 and is the first formal stage in preparing a new Local Development Plan. Drainage and road safety improvements on A9 southbound at Dunblane from Monday 10th November 2025
Amey is undertaking drainage and road safety improvements on the A9 southbound at Dunblane between Monday 10th November and Friday 5th December. The £550,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will deliver new drainage and vehicle restraint system (VRS) barriers on the A9 southbound from the B8033/Kinbuck junction to the A820/Doune Road junction. To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists there will be lane one restrictions on the A9 southbound carriageway between the B8033 junction and the A820 junction. There will also be full overnight closures of the A9 southbound carriageway between 7.30pm and 6.30am on Monday 10th November and Friday 21st November.
The traffic management will be in place as follows: Overnight road closure between 7.30pm and 6.30am: Monday 10th November and Friday 21st November: A9 southbound road closure from the B8033/Kinbuck junction to A820/Doune Road junction. Diversion Route: A9 southbound traffic can take the off slip at the B8033 junction and continue through Dunblane, via Perth Road then Stirling Road, to Keir Roundabout where they can access the A9 and M9. 24/7 Lane 1 Restriction Monday 10th November at 9.30am to Saturday 22nd November at 6.30am. Overnight Lane 1 Restriction between 7.30pm and 6.30am Monday 24th November to Friday 5th December. (Weeknights only) The improvements will benefit more than 12,800 vehicles who use this route each day. Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
