NHS Forth Valley is seeking to recruit three new Non-Executive Board members to help shape the delivery of local health services across the area. We’re interested in hearing from people who want to make a positive difference to the local communities we serve and applications are encouraged from people with a wide range of backgrounds who meet the specific requirements of the roles and who can bring varied perspectives to our work.
The closing date for applications is Monday 20 January 2025 at 5pm. Further information about the roles can be found on the NHS Forth Valley website or you can access the job information direct on the Scottish Public Appointments website. An online information session has also been arranged on 9 January 2025 (6.00 – 7.15pm) to give anyone interested in applying a chance to speak to existing Board members and ask any questions they may have about the roles.

Dunblane's Common Good Assets as listed by Stirling Council include :
- The Laighhills Park including the Pavilion
- The Library
- The War Memorial and Bridge
- Ochlochy Park
The full list is here : https://www.stirling.gov.uk/council-and-committees/about-the-council/common-good/common-good-asset-register/#dunblane-assets-4
How does an asset qualify as common good? Full details are provided here : https://www.stirling.gov.uk/council-and-committees/about-the-council/common-good/administration-of-the-common-good-funds-by-stirling-council/
What does it mean to us? The assets will still be owned and managed by Stirling Council but will be administered by the Civic Panel of Stirling Council. There might be a suggestion that asset management is funded from the Common Good Fund, but the fund is only likely to contain additional cash when assets are disposed off.
Discussions are ongoing to clarify all of this, but the historic nature of the assets and legal complexities mean that these discussions will be challenging.

The first of several Zebra Crossings planned for Dunblane is now being installed in Doune Road. Another one the other side of Dunblane Primary on Old Doune Road is also planned for this month. Both of these were necessitated by a decision to no longer have lollipop personnell.
A third Zebra crossing is proposed for outside the Dunblane Centre but speed measurements will be made to validate the requirement for this.

Stirling Council has just launched this year’s Big Conversation with residents about how it tackles another significant budget shortfall next year (2025-26), and we want to hear your views.
This year, the Big Conversation will include two surveys. The questions in the first survey - which is open now - are based on the feedback we received in last year’s Big Conversation. You told us you wanted more opportunities to tell us about the services you valued, what you liked and disliked about service delivery, and how we could do better and be more efficient. You also told us your views on raising council tax to raise income and help bridge the budget gap. We encourage you to do all of this by completing the survey here, by the 17 November: we want to know what you think.
The second survey will be published in early 2025 following the Scottish Government announcement of the annual local government finance settlement in December. It will run for around a month will include detailed savings proposals to address the estimated shortfall which residents will be able to feedback on.
Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Margaret Brisley said: “The financial environment for local government remains hugely challenging and councils across Scotland will be facing similar budgetary pressures over the coming months.”
“Your feedback will help inform the decisions made on next year’s budget and how we deliver services in your community. Please continue this big conversation with us so we can negotiate this unprecedented challenge together.”
To take part in the online survey, visit Project: The Big Conversation: 2025/26 | Stirling Council.
Paper copies of the survey are also available at Stirling Council libraries. Please ask library staff for more details.
