The children, families and staff of Dunblane Nature Kindergarten
have been working hard over the past five months with
the aim to gain their first Green Flag, ECO school status.
This hard work paid off recently as Dunblane Nature Kindergarten
gained its first green flag.

Incorporating our nature kindergarten ethos alongside
the methodology of ECO school, this project slotted in nicely
to the sustainable approach that is embedded into our daily practice.
Children have quickly come to learn how to become sustainable
through learning journeys on fire making, food preparation
from scratch, cooking over open fire and consuming
your days' work whilst enjoying the fresh air and
bird song that surrounds you. Becoming enlightened
through the reduction of items that are harmful to
our environment, as opposed to only recycling them.
Often recycling means stock piling massive amounts of
plastics to then take to recycling depots, where we
are trying to reduce our requirement for them in the first place.
Being put better in the words of a Child (aged 4) "if you make
bigger piles of plastic then you have more plastic to recycle,
you shouldn't get so much plastic to start with and that is better".
